A Plesant day in Geelong.

Took the morning train out to Geelong, a town not too far from Melbourne, to visit with Elizabeth and Andrew. We shared a Trans Siberian train journey with them a few years ago.

Here we are walking along the harbour.

They spent several hours showing us their beautiful town and then took us home for supper.

Below are some photos from the day.

These are a group of olive trees in their huge garden.

This plant is huge and very showy. They can be seen in many gardens here.

For some reason the cloudless sky seems bluer than the sky at home.
The town is a popular summer home for locals but it also includes buildings like this from an earlier era.

This sailor and a lady of the night are done on old pier posts by a local artist. There are many such posts all depicting part of the history of the town.

Very showy entrance to the pier. You can see a restaurant in the back.
We took the train back to Melbourne after supper and are now listening to the loud music from the bar downstairs. I don't think it will keep us awake though as we are tired tonight.

connecting with friends from a previous trip is definitely fun - you are lucky to have done this and would get a special tour out of it too for sure
